Taking gifts feels hard, somehow. Asking for them is even harder. But thank you for thinking of us and we’ll give back all we can to the forest.
Ferncliffe NPC would be very grateful for gardening equipment in excellent working order, as well as up-to-date tech equipment for our weeders, such as a mobile phone or an extra laptop to record sightings on.
We won’t be able to pay for transporting such donations to our project site from far afield, however.
And sadly, we probably won’t be able to accept most gifts of trees, soil or compost from private gardens, in case of disease and pests. But send us an email if you want to chat about this.
Any NGO we can think of is always on the lookout for a tough vehicle to transport items. An amazing person has provided us with an elderly bakkie. This is totally putting it out there, but we wouldn’t say no to another!
All aspects of running such an organisation, including tree planting, alien clearing, propagation and nursery care — and vitally, running costs and salaries. Donations can be tiny — it all adds up and helps us do what we do.
