Forest Bushwillow #1
This many stemmed bushwillow must have been a venerable giant – and it’s still a tree with enormous presence, one of the biggest of its kind we’ve seen at Ferncliffe. Right now, however, it lives in a shadowy monoculture of bamboo, which must change. Its beautiful autumn red leaves lie like koi on the forest floor, alone amidst a sea of bamboo.
Where is it?
This is another tree in deep shadow in the Bamboo Forest in the pilot project area, which connects to corridors of natural forest leading up to the core area of Ferncliffe Nature Reserve itself.
